The Mother City has prepared her table just for you, and waits to enfold you in her welcoming embrace. You know what they say: there's nothing quite like a mother's hug.
Starting from
Embark on an unforgettable journey through South Africa, where you'll experience the best
You touch down at Cape Town International Airport to be met and welcomed by your friendly informative guide. Transfer to your 5-star accommodation in our luxury air-conditioned vehicle for check-in.
Breakfast is followed by an exhilarating helicopter trip from the V&A Waterfront to Miller’s Point, offering birds-eye views of the Peninsula. You land at Miller’s Point near the historic naval base of Simon’s Town, where your guide waits to accompany you on the rest of your tour around the Peninsula, in one of our luxury vehicles.
Watch the world’s most endearing and vivacious penguins at Boulders Beach Penguin Sanctuary. Enter the Cape Point Nature Reserve where local flora and fauna vie for attention: everything from King Proteas to Rock Hyraxes (known locally as Dassies) and exotic birdlife. Marvel at the views from the Cape of Good Hope. On a clear day, you can see Cape Point in the distance, and possibly catch a glimpse of the elusive ghost ship, the Flying Dutchman. This tour continues all the way round the Peninsula, along Chapman’s Peak Drive, which offers the most spectacular photo opportunities.
Then, descend into Hout Bay for lunch in the harbour, followed by an optional boat cruise to Seal Island. Finally, take the scenic route along the Atlantic seaboard back to your 5-star accommodation.
After breakfast, you depart on a full day tour to explore the nearby Cape Winelands and, if you wish, partake of the fruit of the vine. The region known as the Winelands embraces three historic towns, Paarl, Franschhoek and Stellenbosch, and is set against the dramatic backdrop of the Helderberg and Drakenstein Mountains. Your first visit is to Fairview Wine Estate in Paarl, for an easy masterclass in tasting and pairing. Aside from being one of the foremost wine estates, Fairview is also renowned for its hand-crafted cheeses. You may wish to indulge.
Next on the itinerary is Franschhoek, for yet another wine tasting, and then Stellenbosch for lunch at one of the many spectacular vineyards. After a leisurely lunch, relax and reminisce during the return drive to Cape Town.
We offer a parallel, but alcohol-free, experience for teetotallers, because a visit to our multi-award-winning wine region is a “must-see” for everyone.
Today, you explore the Mother City in all her finery, up close, touching all the iconic, must-see venues. Start off by ascending to the top of Table Mountain in the aerial cableway. En route, enjoy 360° views to every horizon, and the view from the top is truly breathtaking. Upon descending, take a guided stroll through the historic Company’s Garden, along the more characterful streets, to the Bo-Kaap, the city’s most colourful neighbourhood, learning a little about the Cape’s rich cultural history.
Next, a visit to our world-renowned Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, which will leave you breathless, especially if you take the Tree Canopy Walkway, known as The Boomslang. Then, it’s off to nearby Groot Constantia, South Africa’s oldest and most iconic wine estate, established in 1685, for a leisurely cellar tour and wine tasting, followed by dinner at the V&A Waterfront. Return to your 5-star accommodation.
After an early breakfast, you embark on a two-hour journey out of Cape Town to visit Aquila Game Reserve in the Breede River valley, for an authentic African safari. You are greeted with welcome drinks on arrival at Aquila, followed by a stunning buffet lunch. Thereafter, during your two- to three-hour game drive with experienced field guides, you could spot any or all of the big five: lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and buffalo. Compare photos and reminisce on the leisurely drive back to the city.
After breakfast, you are transported by your guide to the Nelson Mandela Gateway, to board your ferry to Robben Island. The island is 12km offshore and is now a World Heritage Site. At various times during its history, the island has been a leper colony, a prison, and a military base; and this trip serves as a reminder of the country’s troubled past. You are given an unparalleled view into the role that Robben Island’s former political prisoners played, collectively, throughout the Apartheid era. Today, the island “symbolises the triumph of the human spirit over extreme adversity and injustice.”
Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela, who became South Africa’s first democratically elected president in 1994, was incarcerated here for 18 of his 27 years as a political prisoner.
We’re gifting you this day, to do with as you please. Catch up on shopping for family and friends, take a stroll along the Seapoint Promenade, indulge in delicious local cuisine, experience authentic Cape Town culture, coffee or sundowners at a Camps Bay café. Chat to your guide for ideas on where to go and what to do.
Your last morning in Cape Town. After breakfast, transfer to Cape Town International in our luxury vehicle, accompanied by your guide. Once there, check in for your outbound flight.
